I just wanted everyone to know that this is the best tour i have ever been on and i have done all the tours in Edinburgh. My cousin was up on hoilday and we decided to go on the tour. Everything was ok until we went on the bus to go home and Jade had a big cut down her chest!! But as soon as we got off the bus it was gone. |

I was not attacked, but I'm really, really OK with that! It was spooky, informative and entertaining. I recommend it to anyone interested in the darker side of real history and believe-it-or-not paranormal activity, especially those like myself who were unaware of Edinburgh's unique history....not your average graveyard! |

Went on the Halloween tour at 9pm. Felt a cold spot around my legs when we entered the 'bad side!'. The day after I felt shocking. Had a bad headache and felt generally terrible! Cannot put this down to drink as I only had 2 small ones! No idea what this was but I didn't feel right all day. Felt sick too! Me and my Mum had a great time! |

Many thanks for a fantastic tour, the stories were fantastic and your expertise and delivery made the tour one of the most memorable my wife and I have done, we learned a lot, not just about greyfriers but Edinburgh itself. It will definately be a Halloween to remember. |

My friends and I came to the city in early August and went on the tour. It was so much fun and very informative. When we got home that night I realized that there was a bruise shaped like a thumb print on my leg and I was freaked out because that is how the poltergeist attacked many other people. I uploaded a photo for proof. Otherwise we had a great time! |

We had a fantastic halloween tour. We took a photo through the right hand grill of MacKenzie's tomb and ended up with quite a cool photo of the engraved stone inside. It was dead centre and all grey with like a black shadow across the left. Lesault was amusing and informative - it was the perfect way to spend my first night in Edinburgh!

Unsure if I have anything to report or not but have to say that upon entering the locked part of the graveyard I felt the most immense feeling of dread, as we walked towards the Covenanter Prison and the Black Mausoleum my left side began to feel numb and the left side of my tongue tingled, when we stood inside I felt heat on my left side, mainly my arm and neck which intensified the longer we stood inside particularly on my neck, a feeling of nausea also began to come over me, just as I thought I was going to have to call out and ask to leave the guide finished and forced me to compose myself, as u are aware we left not long after this and for this I was grateful. As previously mentioned I am unsure if this was due to the "poltergeist" or simply due to fear as u mentioned it would be a coldness we would feel if affected, hence there being no mention of this at the end as u requested, its much easier not to feel silly in an email particularly as this area of my neck still feels abnormally warm compared to the rest of my body.Ii have emailed the company and made them aware of this, after browsing on here saw it was possible to contact you. It was a fab tour and you are a fantastic guide but I will never do another tour again, even if this turns out to be a result of an over active imagination, I'm far too scared

Went with my study abroad group to the 10 o'clock tour on Wednesday the 25th and had an absolute BLAST. We definetly had some very terrified ladies (and maybe secretly terrifed guys?). Lesault provided oodles of information, wit, and spookiness (plus I loved his leather jacket). Though no one was geisted in our group, we all had an electrifying time. Thanks, so much, Lesault! Hello! I had fantastic time at the tour on April 11, 2007! We had gone to another tour to the vaults just before, and this was by far the better tour! Nothing spooky that we noticed (unfortunately), but I uploaded several photos to your site that I noticed later. Spots showing up on the photos from inside the Covenanters Prison, and a vapor-like thing on the door to Mackenzies Tomb.
I cannot wait to come back and stand in the back left corner!

I was on the tour last night, had a really good time getting a bit freaked out. Just thought I'd let you know what happened to me after, might be a strange coincidence but it could be connected so I thought I'd let you know.
When I was in the Mausoleum, I felt as if my hair was static and being slightly tugged, didnt think anything of it at the time but since reading some similar comments on the website thought it could be something. When I got back to our apartment I found a scratch on my leg which I know definitely wasnt there in the afternoon. The weirdest thing by far though was I noticed when I was in the mausoleum I got a tight feeling in my chest, at the time I thought I was being stupid imagining it but then as I left it gradually got worse and stayed with me all night to the point of I couldn't sleep, it felt like I'd literally been thumped in the chest. Like I say might be nothing but I though it was seriously spooky.

We loved the tour (12/3/07, 1930hrs). I was totally hysterical but it was fantastic. Cant wait to go again....
Wanted to let you know that my husband and our friend both experienced heavy sensation in their back as if they we unable to stand straight as soon as we left the cemetary... Weird.. In the morning my husband had what looked to be a whip mark across his lower back... I also had a sore area (like a bruise, without a mark) across my back which lasted a few days and which i dont remember hurting? Strange... Fabulous tour all the same. Angela

hello there! I was on the 8:30 tour on 4th March, my birthday it was awesome!
Though i was just wondering if anyone else has ever felt a kind of heavy, tight feeling in the chest? and then feeling rather warm? I felt it whilst the guide was talking to us in the Black Mausoleum.. but i didn't wanna make a big thing out of it coz as soon as I stepped outside it had gone.
Also just before the guide said that some people felt things touch their skin, both me and my boyfriend had felt that across our faces on our left cheeks.
Anyway, thank you for a fantasticly scary experience.
OOOH YEH... someone else's comment just reminded me.. when i was trying to take some pics with my digital camera it took the photos only when i looked to view them my camera had frozen and it didnt save the photos.. which my camera has never done before.. was really odd. Amelie xx

I was on the last tour of the festival (we were the group of loud Irish lads) and it was a great. The atmoshere on the tour was great and very funny at times. It was certainly the best tour I've ever been on. I have a few interesting pictures from the tour that show what I think are orbs forming a shape. I did the midnight tour on Saturday (Sunday Morning) 12/13th of August.
I have previously watched shows like 'Most Haunted' etc and on this they go on about 'orbs'.........
I did not say anthing at the time of the tour but while you were speaking I thought I saw two 'orbs' flicking around. Both towards your right and my left as you were speaking, both appearing in quick succession. I am not sure that they were orbs or not as I have not seen one before but they looked very similar to those on the shows mentioned, they been not appear to be anything as small as dust particles.
Are these common or am I totally wrong?
Be nice to know I am not going mad
Great tour will be doing it again

It's Lynda that was with Richard Felix on Wednesday night.
Didn't get chance to say to you, Excellent Tour, very well done, Richard loved it too.
And also to report a delayed action incident for you.
I found it on Friday morning, a vertical scratch down my spine, 3 inches long starting at waist height going dead straight down the spine, it has slight bruising around it too.
All I felt on the night was that area was exceptionally hot, the heat started just as we walked into the tomb itself, there was nothing there on Thursday morning, but the burning sensation continued on and off throughout the day. Thursday night my house went a bit schizo, more bumps and doors slamming than usual.
When i woke up in the morning, the hot patch was burning even more, so I went and looked in the mirror and the scratch was there!
I tried to copy it by scratching near it, but i couldn't get the angle right, the ones i did myself all leaned to one side or the other, while the original one is totally vertical dead straight, almost like a ruler, and as thin as a cat scratch.
Sorry I can't send a photo as it does go rather low!! and that would scare folks more than your tour!!
Hope to see you soon, and nice site by the way!

I was on the tour 25/7 where you took a photo of my back with the scratches of it. Just to let you know when we got home that night, not half hour later, the scratches were pretty much gone, but the red mark was still there. it looked kind of like the redness you get from having hot water on it for a long time....hard to explain. anyway the next morning the area was clear, my partner could make out faint scratches like it was only 3 fingers that did it, but now its all gone. I do have to say I did go into this tour very sceptical, but now fully believe that there is something in there!!! As for signs of activity while I was in there, I seriously did not feel anything, but I may have been in a cold spot as I was freezing, but yet again I'm australian and everything below 35 degrees is freezing to me! Apart from having to listen above the constant talking of the rude Italian students I thoroughly enjoyed your tour and will definately recommend it to my friends back home that are planning to come to Edinburgh. Went on the 7.30pm tour on Sunday 9th April 06. Found the tour to be very entertaining and lots of good stories. Upon entering the Covenants Prison was feeling a little anxious and nervous. Once inside the Black Mausoleum I was standing in the middle of our group, I felt a drip of water fall onto the side of my face - did not think much of it so moved forward a little, couple of minutes later the same thing happened. When we were outside I asked Lesault if the ceiling was damp he checked the floor and the ceiling in the centre of the Mausoleum and both areas were bone dry !!! Very Strange !!! Great great night and I have been recommending the tour to all my friends.

Went on the tour on 19th March. Had mobile phone turned off from before the tour started. Turned it on after to find 20
extra photos of a black image with white in the centre on the phone! Each photo was in a different focus but of exactly the same thing.
Strange! These photos were definitely not on the phone before the tour! stac...@yahoo.co.uk |

Hi there!!!
Thanks for a great tour!! I have never seen so many people at a ghost tour!!
My mum was a bit worried going
on the tour as she can be quite nervous but she really enjoyed it ( alot more than she thought she would). The tour was fun and
informative and very atmospheric too! Really would not want to be on my own in that graveyard at night!! I didnt get scratched or
anything like that but as soon as the gates were opened to go through to the Poltergeist part of the tour I experienced a drop in
temperature and my right hand went completely numb in the prison part and didnt get better until we came out!! shee...@tuht.scot.nhs.uk |

thanks for a great tour! it was my birthday and it really made my night! no scratches to report this morning i did feel
sick on entering the the gate and in the black mousoliem but i think that was down to nerves even though the guide's humour put me a
little at ease. my boyfriend's totally sceptical but i think even he was a little wary.
i would definately recommend it i might even go
on it again :-) shec...@hotmail.com |

:-0 Thanks for the tour. It was sPoOkY but alot of fun. Your a great tour guide. I could have killed the guy who jumped
out and scared us, but at least I didnt fall down like the other 4 chicks! poor girls got such a fright. felt a bit of a warm sensation
on my left shoulder when I was in the Mousoliem, and like a cold breeze cut across the back of my legs. No marks to report. Thanks again,
it was very enjoyable. conc...@hotmail.com |

Really enjoyed the tour on Wednesday night. Loved the fact that the tour was history and humour rather than just
pantomime horror like some of the others looked to be. What really made it was the great skills as a speaker and presenter of the host.

I just LOVED the tour... I was so fascinated with both the facts you told, and the weird sensation I got when we entered
the mausuleum. I definately felt a presence in the prison that wasn't human...
A part from that, you're a brilliant storyteller and I'm
sure I will be coming back to Edinburgh and taking your tour again. Love Nadja nad...@stofanet.dk |

Thanks for a very enjoyable time on the night of 26th Feb 2006 - It was a very well presented and humerous tour. We both
had a realy good time though I have to admitt I was terrified in the Mousoliem. I did'nt feel anything physically. However I did smell a
very strong sweet smell. Not to unusual I hear you say, whats unusual is I dont have a very good sense of smell at all, and my partner
who has a perfect sense of smell didnt pick up a thing. davi...@tiscali.co.uk |

hey, just thought I would update you on my scratch. I took your tour on the 9th of Feb. I felt nothing until we entered
the back part of the graveyard. I never felt sick or got the feeling as if something was touching me. For a brief moment I felt a warm
feeling on my back. Which later resulted in the scratch on my back you took a picture of. Walking back to the hostel I had the feeling as
is someone was walking close to my back. I shook off the feeling and went for a shower when my friend pointed out. 3 more scratches had
appeared higher up my back. They werent deep but very red. It's been 4 days now and they have all dissapeared as fast as they appeared.
Thanks for the tour is was great. tany...@hotmail.com |

Excellent, entertaining and informative tour last night. My daughter and I enjoyed it immensely. We are total skeptics,
but had a blast. My 'total skeptic' daughter found a strange scratch on her upper arm this evening, which hurt, then stopped hurting,
then disappeared. She is now somewhat less skeptical, as am I. (By the way -- does this poltergeist ever give people colds or the flu??
I was totally healthy before I took this tour, and woke up with a full-blown chest-cold hours later. Usually it takes me a few days to
develop a cold to this level...) |

My son and I attended the tour on 11 Jan 2006. We were scared out of our wits! I am not clairvoyant but I am sometimes
sensitive...i have lived in a haunted house, have occasionally seen spirits and since my husband's passing to the other side five years
ago I have learned to recognise and acknowledge the presence of spirit. Earlier in the day my son and I toured Mary King's Close and the
air in the close seemed fizzing with spiritual energy. (my son as a small child also saw ppl who weren't there...an ability he no longer
has consciously). It takes a lot to scare me. By the time we got to Greyfriars that night my extremely cool fifteen year old son was
not too cool to be seen clutching his mother's hand...and I was hanging onto him like grim death (maybe an unfortunate expression). The
wind whipping the bare branches in the ancient graveyard provided a spooky atmosphere...it was pretty easy to visualise graverobbers in
the same graveyard only a couple of centuries ago. My son muttered "They can't make us go into the vault, can they?" and I whispered
back "Well there is no way in Hell I am standing out here in the cemetery by myself while I wait for everyone!" and so we positioned
ourselves in the group and shuffled into the vault. I stood at the front of the group, and immediately felt a cold spot. I stepped
back into the group. "Just cold air from the doorway" I told myself. A few seconds later, the cold spot found me again. I stepped
back. I concentrated on breathing regularly and began Reiki, channelling positive energy into the hand that was locked in my son's. My
eyes were fixated on the guide...he was extremely smart, cute and funny but if he even looked like shutting that mausoleum gate with us
on the inside and him on the outside there would be another scotsman buried in greyfriars by midnite because once i smashed a size 16
hole through the brick wall I would have murdered him myself. And while my eyes were locked on the guide...something in my peripheral
vision on my right side was black and smudgy and I wanted to leave! But I'm an Aussie...we don't chicken out (in public)or draw
attention to ourselves. I shifted away from the cold spot another couple of times, while smiling at the guide and hoping he couldn't
tell I was simultaneously asking my guardian angel and deceased husband to keep the baddies away. Joomper-ooter aside, there were no
dramatic incidents and my son and I soon found ourselves warming up in a restaurant opposite the mercat cross half and hour later. Most
of me was warm...my belly and thighs were shivering and icy cold and that night my cool fifteen year old son slept in his mother's hotel
bed with the light on, seriously creeped out. A fascinating tour. Not sure about the wisdom of feeding an entity like that...but it was
an experience we won't forget. moon...@bigpond.com |

Hi, I took the 8pm tour on November 14th. (you did a good tour by the way) and it wasnt until yesterday that I realized
there was something wrong with my photo of the gate. I had waited for the last person to enter the giftshop at the end of the tour to
take my picture of the entry so it really surprised me when my ma asked who the people in my picture was. There was nobody there when I
took the picture and I do not remember anybody on the tour looking like that. Here is a link below to see the photo I took that
night. http://photos.oc.edu/gallery/791162/80/45216288

Hello, i was on the customs and excise private tour last night (4/11/05), i had to leave the tomb as i was getting really
cold and could swear i could hear scratching coming from the top corner and down the wall on the left hand side of the tomb. This
happened before when i was on the tour and one of my friends collapsd just after we started hearing it. I wasnt sure last night if it was
just the lot i was with being pissed and making noises but it has been annoying me all day. Then about an hour ago i noticed a deep
scratch under my bump (im six and a half months pregnant). It definatly wasnt there before and i was just lying on the couch i certainly
didnt do it.... am now freaked out and thinkin going in that tomb while pregnant maybe wasnt such a good idea...:-U icem...@yahoo.co.uk |

hi there, good to see that the site is building nicely. I am the wife of a victim, and since he went public about his
attack, we have had many people doubt our testimony but I'd like to set the record straight. HE wanted to use our break to go to
Amsterdam. I wanted to come to Edinburgh. I wanted to do the C.O.D. tour, he tagged along, as it was something I wanted to do. He was
wearing long sleeves and I can bear witness to the fact that the scratches he received were very very real and not something that could
have happened in any logically explained way. I noticed the scratches while he was unaware they had occured.
Do the tour and see for
yourselves, I am still amazed what happened that night. It's a fantastic experience, one we will never forget. Scared? YES!!!!!!!!! hele...@hotmail.com |
